PUBLIC NOTICE

Upcoming Quarter 2 Utility Meter Readings

Date: June 29, 2026

To: All Residents and Business Owners

Please be advised that utility personnel will begin performing routine Quarter 2 (2nd Quarter) meter readings starting today. Readings will continue throughout the next two weeks to ensure accurate billing for your water and electric usage.

What You Need to Know:

  • Identification: All field technicians will be wearing official city/company uniforms and carrying visible photo identification badges.
  • Property Access: Technicians may need access to your yard or property to read meters located outside. Please ensure that gates are unlocked and paths leading to the meters are clear of debris, overgrown vegetation, or obstacles.
  • Pet Safety: For the safety of our workers and your pets, please keep domestic animals secured indoors or safely away from the meter area during this period.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Do I need to be home? > No. As long as our technicians have safe, unobstructed access to the outdoor meter, you do not need to be present.

What if my meter is indoors? > If your meter is located inside your home or business, a technician will knock. If you are not available, a door hanger will be left with instructions on how to self-report your reading.

Thank you for your cooperation and assistance in helping us keep our utility services running smoothly and accurately.

Questions or Concerns? If you have any questions or wish to verify the identity of a technician in your area, please contact our Customer Service Department at 717-328-3116 or visit our website at mercersburg.org.
