The Borough of Mercersburg reminds property owners and residents of their responsibility to maintain the sidewalks, yards, alleys, and other areas associated with their properties.
Grass, weeds, brush, and other vegetation must be regularly trimmed and maintained in accordance with Mercersburg Borough Nuisance Ordinance No. 10-15. Sidewalks and alleys should also be kept clear of weeds, overgrowth, debris, and other obstructions that may create unsafe or unsightly conditions.
Over the coming weeks, Borough Code Enforcement officials will be conducting inspections throughout the Borough. Properties found to be in violation may receive a notice of violation or citation in accordance with Borough ordinances.
Residents and property owners are encouraged to take pride in our community and help keep Mercersburg clean, safe, and welcoming. This is especially important as we prepare for upcoming community activities and events, including the Mercersburg Community Fair.
