Drought conditions worsen in parts of the Commonwealth

After the February 18, 2026, meeting of the Commonwealth Drought Task Force,

several changes were made to the prior drought declaration.

 The following counties have been issued a Drought Watch: Allegheny, Blair,

Bucks, Centre, Columbia, Dauphin, Delaware, Montgomery, Montour,

Philadelphia, and York.

The Water Meeting scheduled for Thursday, February 19, 2026 will be held at the Mercersburg United Methodist Church (Sanctuary), 105 E Seminary St. The meeting will begin at 7:00pm. Parking lots available at 20 N Fayette St and 105 N Fayette St.

The Mercersburg Water Authority encourages all customers to inspect their water pipes, including fire protection systems. If pipes were frozen during the recent extremely cold temperatures the warmer temperatures may thaw these frozen pipes potentially causing leaks.

We encourage all customers to check their residence/business routinely and to locate their main water shut-off valve.
